New Liberal Candidate for Kavel

Mar 17, 2017

New Liberal Candidate for Kavel

A local Hills solicitor and respected community leader Dan Cregan has been appointed as the new Liberal candidate to contest the seat of Kavel in the coming state election.

Mr Cregan’s appointment was the result of a preselection process which followed an announcement by current Liberal Member for Kavel Mark Goldsworthy MP that he will resign from Parliament at the next election.

Mr Cregan is a local solicitor and community leader heavily involved in the Kavel area.  He is honoured to be given the opportunity to win the support of the community and represent those people in future.

“I am passionate about delivering the infrastructure we need, reducing household costs and protecting the lifestyle of those who call this great part of the world home,” Mr Cregan said.

“Above all else, I will be a strong local community leader and I look forward to talking with people about the issues they care about and being a strong voice for them in the Parliament.”

Liberal Leader Steven Marshall congratulated Mr Cregan on his endorsement to be the candidate.

“Dan Cregan is a hard-working and intelligent community champion. Dan’s skills and experience will make him a strong voice for the people of Kavel,” Mr Marshall said.

“Dan will be a strong advocate for our Globe Link plan which would remove freight trains from the Adelaide Hills and reduce trucks on the South Eastern Freeway.

“Globe Link would also provide businesses with the competitive advantage they need to get our premium South Australian products to international markets.”

Mark Goldsworthy MP also congratulated Dan Cregan. “I know Dan to be a person of high integrity who is well respected in the community.  Dan works and lives locally and is extensively involved in many areas of community activity in our local Hills district.

“I know Dan will campaign strongly over the next 12 months leading to the election and I am sure Kavel voters will be pleased to meet and discuss important issues with him."
