Liberal Candidate for Frome

Liberal Candidate for Frome

Local media identity and Port Pirie Councillor Kendall Jackson has been elected as the Liberal candidate to contest the seat of Frome in the 2018 state election.

Mrs Jackson's appointment is the result of a preselection college held on the 25th February in Balaklava. Mrs Jackson is honoured to be given the opportunity to return Frome to a Liberal held seat at the next election.

The hard-working former ABC journalist and Warnertown publican has a strong record of standing up for the region and delivering locally.

Mrs Jackson was a regional presenter for the ABC Country Hour program for more than 12 years both here and in the Northern Territory.  She has a small business background, having managed and then owned the Flinders Rest Hotel in Warnertown near Port Pirie with husband Lee and their four children.

“I'm looking forward to being a strong local voice for the Frome region,” Mrs Jackson said.

“My top priority is regional development. We must boost growth in regional South Australia and that has been neglected under the Labor Government in SA.”

“We need to nurture our rural industries by fixing the power crisis to create reliable baseload energy and foster innovation to drive our industries forward.  That way we can attract the investment and create the jobs required for our region to grow.”

“I’m really looking forward to hitting the road, listening to locals and working with the community on the issues that concern them.”

State Liberal Leader Steven Marshall congratulated Kendall Jackson on her election.

“Kendall has a wealth of real life experience that makes her an attractive candidate for the people of Frome,” Mr Marshall said.

“It’s good to see another successful female candidate in a winnable seat.”
