New Liberal Candidates - Newland, King, and Wright

The Liberal Party has chosen three new candidates to contest the 2018 state election following preselection meetings held recently in the key north eastern suburbs seats of Newland, King and Wright.

The latest round of preselections have delivered candidates with strong professional, community and local government credentials.

State Liberal Leader Steven Marshall has welcomed today’s candidate selections.

“Richard Harvey, Paula Luethen and Luigi Mesisca are fantastic additions to our team. All three are community champions with deep local roots. The depth and diversity of talent in our team is precisely what South Australians have been crying out for in their government,” Mr Marshall said.

“We’ve got real people, with real experience to deal with the very real problems South Australia faces.”

Tee Tree Gully Councillor and ServiceSA Customer Service Centre Manager Paula Luethen has been selected to contest the seat of King.

“Throughout my career, I’ve seen first-hand how our front line services can improve people’s lives but can also create major frustration when they are not well managed. I will use all the experience I’ve gained in these areas to talk with the local community to deliver positive change,” Ms Luethen said.

Research Scientist for the University of Adelaide, Dr Richard Harvey, will represent the Liberal Party in Newland.

“I’m thrilled to have been selected and can’t wait to work with the community on the issues they’re concerned about,” Dr Harvey said.

“I want to use my community work and science background to connect with as many local people as possible to support local families and bring confidence back to local businesses and the State.”

Luigi Mesisca, a qualified lawyer and officer with the Department of Treasury and Finance, is the new candidate in Wright.

“Each and every day I work with people facing financial and cost-of-living challenges. I’m looking forward to taking that work to the next level as part of the Marshall Liberal Team,” Mr Mesisca said.
